The Experienced Worker Assessment (EWA) offers 3 pathways:
- Copper only engineer
- Fibre only engineer
- Copper & Fibre engineer
The whole process is completed in one day at our training centre in Harrogate.

To be eligible for the EWA, you need to be at least 21 years old and have 5 years of experience in the industry

To be eligible for the Gold ECS Card engineers to have the following:
- Experienced Worker Assessment.
- Employer statement or project reference confirming at least 12 months installation experience.
- Hold a current ECS Health, Safety and Environmental Assessment.

Am I eligible for this assessment?
You need to be at least 21 years old and have at least 5 years experienced in the structured network industry. You don't need any other qualifications - just knowledge and skills you have gained through experience
Where do I need to do the assessment?
Our assessment centre is in Harrogate which is really easy to get to. Harrogate is just off the A1(M) or can be approached on the A59. It is also serviced by trains directly from London, Leeds and York
Where can I stay
If you need to stay in Harrogate, there a wide selection of hotels and guest houses. There are plenty of places to park. We don't have parking at available at the centre but there is a multi-storey carpark less than 5 minutes walk away.
What does it cost?
As there are three pathways, there are 3 costs. All costs include pre-assessment course notes, registration and accreditation, and the assessment and multiple-choice test.
Copper-only pathway - £650 + VAT
Fibre-only pathway - £750 + VAT
Copper and fibre pathway - £1250 + VAT
Which ECS Card can I get?
For the full Network Infrastructure Installer Gold Card you need to complete the Copper and Fibre pathway - showing your competence in both.
If you only ever work on copper projects you can just do the Copper pathway and gain the Level 3 ECS Network Infrastructure Installer Copper - this is White with Gold Crosshatch. You will not be able to work on fibre installations.
If you only ever work on fibre projects, you can just do the fibre pathway and gain the Level 3 ECS Network Infrastructure Installer Fibre - this is White with Gold Crosshatch. You will not be able to work on copper installations.
Do I need to bring any equipment?
No - we supply everything and it is all part of the cost of the assessment.
