How much does the ECS Gold Card assessment cost?
The ECS Gold Card assessment costs £750 (excl. VAT) for either the Copper or Fibre pathway individually, or £1,250 (excl. VAT) for the combined Copper and Fibre pathway. This includes your one-day assessment, all equipment usage, and detailed preparation materials.
What Happens After I Book?
After booking and payment, you'll receive a detailed handbook via email to help you prepare for your one-day assessment. This includes specific preparation guidance and what to expect on the day.
Can I Book Both Copper and Fibre Pathways?
Yes! You can book the combined Copper and Fibre pathway for £1,250 (excl. VAT). Both assessments will be completed on the same day within a maximum of 7 hours.
Can I pay for my assessment in installments?
Yes, we offer flexible payment options for ECS assessments. You can pay a deposit to secure your booking and pay the balance before your assessment date. Contact us on 01423 740006 to discuss payment plan options that work for you.
Where exactly is the VQ Solutions assessment centre located?
Our assessment centre is located just off Parliament Street in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. We'll send you all the details you need in our joining instructions after you book. We're easily accessible by car and Harrogate railway station is nearby for public transport.
Is parking available at the assessment centre?
There isn't on-site parking at our assessment centre, but there's a multi-storey car park just 5 minutes away. If you're staying overnight at a local hotel, you can leave your car there and walk to the centre.
What time does the assessment start and finish?
Assessments typically start at 9:00 AM with registration and briefing. Copper pathway assessments usually finish by 1:00 PM, fibre assessments by 4:00 PM, and combined assessments by 5:00 PM. Exact times are confirmed in your booking confirmation.
Can I reschedule my ECS assessment?
Yes, you can reschedule your assessment with at least 14 days notice without charge. For shorter notice or same-day changes, a rescheduling fee may apply. Contact us as soon as possible if you need to change your date.
Are there hotels near the assessment centre in Harrogate?
Yes, Harrogate has excellent accommodation options within 5-10 minutes of our centre. We recommend the Premier Inn Harrogate, Holiday Inn Express, or The Crown Hotel. Many candidates stay overnight before their assessment to ensure they're fresh and ready.
Are there any additional fees beyond the assessment price?
No, our assessment price is all-inclusive. It covers your practical and theory assessment, all equipment usage, preparation materials, and assessor time. The only additional cost would be your ECS card application fee paid directly to ECS after passing.
