Types of ECS Network Infrastructure Installer Cards

There are two distinct ECS Network Infrastructure Installer cards

  • Network Infrastructure Installer (Level 3)
  • Network Infrastructure Installer Gold Card

ECS Network Infrastructure Installer Level 3 Card

To apply for the ECS Network Infrastructure Installer Level 3 Card, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  1. Completion of the Experienced Worker Assessment:
    • Either the Copper or Fibre pathway (or both).
  2. Proof of Installation Experience:
    • An employer or company statement confirming at least 12 months of relevant installation experience. Alternatively, other evidence of experience may be accepted.
  3. Health, Safety, and Environmental Assessment:

Experienced Worker Assessment

The Experienced Worker Assessment is designed for those with significant industry experience but lack formal qualifications. These assessments are conducted by training providers approved by Open Awards and allow candidates to demonstrate their competency to Gold Card standards in copper cabling, fibre cabling, or both.

Network Infrastructure Installer Gold Card

The ECS Network Infrastructure Installer Gold Card is the other certification for data network installers who meet the required standard. It certifies expertise in installing, commissioning, and maintaining copper and fibre structured cabling systems for network infrastructure.

Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Successful completion of the Copper or Fibre Experienced Worker Assessment.
  2. Employer or project reference confirming at least 12 months of installation experience.
  3. A valid ECS Health, Safety & Environmental Assessment certificate.
